Task moderation is a key element of gamification that allows you to verify tasks that require your attention. It ensures that you are awarded points only for correctly completed actions, such as uploading a photo, video or text.

From this article you will learn:

  • What is task moderation and which tasks require it?

  • How to go to the task moderation panel?

  • How to accept or reject completed tasks?

  • How to manually change the number of points awarded for a task?

  • How to collectively manage submissions?

  • How to manually grant or reject a task for a selected participant?

How to find the moderation panel?

To manage tasks that require verification, go to the moderation panel.

  1. In your event's administration panel, go to the Gamification module and select the Tasks tab .

  2. If there are tasks in your event that need to be moderated, you will see a Moderation button (with a man icon with a "bird") in the upper right corner. Click it.

  1. You will see a list of all tasks that require moderation, along with the statistics of submissions (total number, accepted, rejected, pending, canceled).

  2. To go to moderate a specific task, click the Moderation button (the icon of a man with a "bird") in the row of the task in question.

How to moderate tasks?

When you go to the moderation panel of a specific task, you will see a list of all participants who have completed it and are waiting for verification.

Accept or reject the task:

  1. In the table, find the submission you want to verify. You will see who submitted it and the date of completion. If the task required you to submit a file or text, you will see it in the File/Text column .

  2. To the right are action buttons:

    • Accept (green button with "bird") - to approve the task and award points to the participant.

    • Reject (red button with "x") - to reject the performance of the task. The participant will not receive points.

Manually changing points:

If you selected the "Custom number of points" option during task setup, you can modify the number of points awarded.

  1. Accept the task.

  2. Once accepted, an edit box will appear in the Points column. Click on it, enter a new value and confirm.

  3. You can also use the Change Points button (pencil icon) to open a window for editing points.

Aggregate moderation:

You can moderate multiple submissions at the same time.

  1. Check the boxes (checkboxes) next to the submissions you want to manage.

  2. At the top of the table, the Mass Actions box will appear . Select from the list whether you want to Accept or Reject the selected submissions.

  3. Click Apply.

Manual moderation for a participant:

You can manually grant or reject a task for any participant, even if he or she has not submitted an application.

  1. In the task moderation panel, click the Add task moderation button for the selected participant (the icon of a man with a "bird").

  2. In the window that appears, select a participant from the list.

  3. Select the status you want to assign: Accepted or Rejected.

  4. If the task allows its own number of points, you can enter the appropriate value right away.

  5. Click Save.

FAQ

Which types of tasks always require moderation?

Moderation requires tasks that rely on the creativity of participants and cannot be automatically verified by the system. These include: Upload Photo, Upload Video, Add Text and Perform Moderated Action.

What happens when I accept or reject a task?

When you accept the task, the participant will receive points and his/her progress in the gamification will be updated. Optionally, he or she may also receive a notification (if enabled). When you reject a task, the participant will not receive points and the task will be marked as rejected.

Can I change my decision after moderation?

No. Once you accept or reject a task, the status can no longer be reversed. The only thing you can modify after acceptance is the number of points awarded (if the task has this option).
